Brunner is pleased to welcome over 200 apprentices!

This year, as in every year, Hans Brunner GmbH welcomed its new apprentices to its factory in Glonn, Bavaria, on 1 September. In 2020, however, there's an even better reason to celebrate than usual. With these new apprentices who are just setting out on their career paths, Brunner has now appointed more than 200 young people.

We trained our first toolmaker 78 years ago. Even today, Brunner still trains apprentices in the same career, although they are now known as precision machinists. This technologically varied career offers a wide range of activities, covering everything from computer-based design and manual metalwork through to the programming of state-of-the-art machines.

Thanks to some major investment and a lot of innovations, Brunner will soon be offering apprentices the chance to train as process mechanics for plastics and rubber technology. In this largely technical apprenticeship, trainees will become all-round experts in and skilled programmers of injection moulding machines, handling robots and process automation technology.

Thanks to its family atmosphere, Brunner rapidly became a popular training workplace, quickly achieving the milestone of 100 successfully qualified apprentices. The 101st apprentice joined the company’s commercial department as a student in 1988. She was the first industrial business management assistant to be  ‘made by Brunner’ and is still with the company today. Since then, new faces have joined Brunner’s varied commercial apprenticeship programme every two years or so. As well as learning about the commercial side of the business, they also gain insights into its technical departments.

Brunner sees its apprentices as an investment in the future, which is why it puts so much dedication and care into training the experts of tomorrow. The fact that our apprentices have so often been recognised for coming top of the class over the years bears proud witness to this commitment.

Even during the coronavirus crisis, it's extremely important that the training of our apprentices should go ahead as planned. Which is why our apprentices are still being trained to make and "break the mould", even under the hygiene measures that are currently necessary.

So, the Hans Brunner company extends a warm welcome to our new apprentices and wishes them all the best for the start of their careers.
